I’M A WRITER WHO WENT TO school FOR GRAPHIC DESIGN
I studied writing, too. But only because my parents asked me to, because they saw me write extensively from the moment I was able.
Studying design was one of the best decisions I ever made. I learned how to see the world through color and shape and typography and human-centered experiences (and the lack thereof). My favorite philosophy is that being a designer is not necessarily a (Photoshop/Illustrator/etc) skill, but a point of view. Having that perspective to wield my writing skills is what brought me to advertising just over four years ago.
I love working with designers. I love creating in the visual world. I believe that, amidst shortening attention spans, words are only as meaningful as they are beautiful. Aesthetics matter. Meaning matters. Advertising does both. That’s why I love the work.
Sometimes people say nice things to me and I take them very, very seriously.
good writers 🤝 good readers
Books I’m down to get nerdy over.
